Hilaturas Mar has actively participated in the Annual RegioGreenTex Conference, recently held in Ontinyent, Spain. This event brought together 70 representatives from 8 European countries to discuss projects and solutions related to circular economy and sustainability in the European textile industry.

During the conference, Rafael Barceló, representing Hilaturas Mar, along with Juanan from Ubitech, presented the progress of the pilot project "Hybrid Yarns with Recycled Carbon Fiber for Advanced Composites". This project focuses on developing hybrid yarns applied to composite fabrics and their use in composite molds.

Objetives:

  1. Improvement in fiber blending: Optimize the breakage and degradation of recycled carbon fiber (rCF).

  2. Advancements in friction spinning: Develop, adapt, and refine processes to create high-quality hybrid yarns.

  3. Development of fabrics: Create fabrics with hybrid yarns for thermoplastic composites, including reinforcement embroidery and cohesion.

  4. Efficient molding: Ensure that the molding process produces parts with excellent mechanical properties.

Interregional Dimension:

RegioGreenTex promotes collaboration in research and development among 44 partners from the four main sectors of society: industry, government, research institutes, and the public. The partners come from 11 regions across 8 European countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.

Hilaturas Mar's participation in this project reinforces our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the European textile sector.
